FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: My grandfather uses a wheelchair. Will your accommodation be suitable?
A: Yes. We have had many guests with restricted mobility including those needing wheelchairs who have found the accommodation more than adequate. We have ramps to the exterior, and wooden ramps which can be fitted inside the house to allow access from the kitchen/dining area to the sitting room. The twin-bedded room downstairs has its own en-suite facilities including handrails, shower wheelchair. Other items of medical equipment are available to hire locally, and as a nurse Margaret can advise and liaise with local medical services.
Q: I would like to find and visit the grave of my uncle. Are your tours flexible enough for this?
A: Yes. We are happy to help and indeed this kind of research makes it all the more worthwhile for us.
Q: Concerning payment, I notice that you don't take credit cards. So how can I pay?
A: You can pay through Paypal, interbank transfer, or, if you prefer to pay by cheque, you can ask your bank to provide a sterling cheque.
Q: You say that all the meals are provided. Does this really mean all meals, for instance do you pay for drinks or lunches when we are out on the tours?
A: This is a good point and one we are often asked. Yes! Our prices really do include all meals. Whilst out on the tours we usually take a picnic lunch (which we provide), or stop at a cafe for lunch (again, no extra cost for you). During the day we also provide drinks as well as snacks.
Q: Is there a lot of walking involved?
A: That depends on where you want to go. We will endeavor to park as close as we can to the museums and sites, and we do plan our itineraries to spread the walking over the five days, rather than cramming it all into one day. If someone in your group is unable to walk very far then we will supply a wheelchair.
Q: Where can I get more information on D-Day and WWII?
